Description
1. To introduce the assignment, the
instructor may share the traditional version and the revised version of a
popular fairytale to serve as a model for the students to follow.
2. Each student should choose and
read an interesting, popular fairytale. While reading, the student should pay
attention to the main idea of the story.
3. After reading the story in its
traditional version, each student will revise the fairytale keep the original
idea of the story but put a new twist on it. Good examples of fairytales, with
an adult twist, are listed in the resources column.
4. Each student will then tell the
story to the group. The student may want to dramatize the story using
classmates as impromptu actors. This will depend upon the comfort level of your
group.
5. The story should be learned well
enough so that the story is told not read.
