Chalayne Dumont of Truro had the determination and desire to succeed where she once she never thought possible....the classroom. Chalayne is an example to anyone who may want to return to education. She attended CALA to upgrade her academic skills before taking her GED test.
The twelve week refresher course offered through CALA covers the GED material and prepares the adult learner for the tests in Communication, Math, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Science. Chalayne said the feeling of liberation in receiving her certificate was amazing. It was the result of hard work and the application of specific learned skills she gained at CALA. So many doors will now be opened for Chalayne in both her personal and professional life. Chalayne credits the support of friends, family and CALA staff with her newfound educational achievement.
“Words can’t express how I felt when I opened “the envelope” from the Dept. of Education; I actually was opening up a new start to my life.” ~Chalayne Dumont
