In 1871 the concept of culture was explicitly
defined by anthropologist Edward B. Taylor as
"that complex whole which includes knowledge,
belief, art, morals, law, custom, and any other
capabilities and habits acquired by man as a
member of society."

Culture is a learned behaviour. Gestures that we make are part of that learned behaviour. Using the following list, see if you can come up with a gesture to express the thought. Is it common to all languages and cultural groups? Are there differences?
Are there any that would not be appropriate to use in a workplace, a place of business?
