Cape Breton Island has received many immigrants. In the early 1900s people came from many countries to work in the coal and steel industries. The island has also sent out many emigrants. Often, people leave to find jobs. Researchers at the University of Calgary are interested in why some of us stay in new places and why some of us don’t.
