STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS
Ask tutors what they think when they hear the word numeracy.
Provide tutors with various art materials and ask them to choose a medium to create either a collage or other art form to express what numeracy means to them. Allow time for tutors to complete their project. It would be a good
idea if you also created a project to show your own definition of numeracy.
Ask if there is anyone willing to share their creation.
Share the definitions given at the beginning of this unit. Share your own
ideas about numeracy.
Use the handout to show how tutors can renew their relationship with math. Tutors can also use this handout with their learners.
