Example: 648 times 7

Step 1: Multiply the ones: 8 x 7 = 56

Step 2: Fill in the ones place: 6 is placed in the ones place in the answer

Step 3: Carry the tens: 5 placed above the number 7 in the number 678

Step 4: Multiply the tens by the bottom number: 7 x 7 = 49

Step 5: Add up the tens: 5 + 49 = 54

Step 6: Fill in the tens place: 4 is placed inthe tens place in the answer
