Tool #3 - B: Reciprocal Map

Purpose: Literacy organizations may benefit in many ways from its collaboration with community partners. One common result is a reciprocal arrangement with the literacy organization also supporting its community partners. This map provides a visual representation of the organizations to which your literacy program gives in-kind contributions. It is optional whether you choose to use this tool, as it may not be relevant to all communities. This tool can be filled in at the end of the year or throughout the year.

Instructions

• Step 1: Write the name of your organization in the middle circle. In the other circles, write the names of the organizations to which your organization contributes. This can be an in-kind contribution or funding.
• Step 2: Using a coloured marker, draw an arrow from your organization to the organization which you support. Write on that arrow what it is that you give. Do the same for each organization to which you contribute using a different coloured marker each time. See the example.
