Europe

Europe's 10,880,000 square kilometers (4,200,000 square miles) makes it the second smallest continent. There is often a lot of disagreement between geographers on where the line lies between Europe and Asia. The Ural Mountains in the U.S.S.R. are considered the eastern boundary by most geographers.

Europe covers only about 8% of the world's land area, but it is a continent of great importance because of its history and culture.

No point in the western regions of Europe is further than 800 kilometers from the sea, except for areas in Central Europe.

Europe has many countries. Looking at the map, you can see a few very tiny countries; Andorra in the Pyrenees Mountains between Spain and France, Liechenstein between Switzerland and Austria, and Monaco on France's south coast.
