If it’s wintertime or you don’t have a place to garden, try growing some bean seeds in a jar or
carrot tops in a shallow dish of water. You won’t be able to eat the results, but your child will still be fascinated by watching them grow.
For an indoor gardening/ project that you can eat, fill each
section of an egg carton with about an inch of soil. Plant alfalfa
seeds in the soil, and water them daily using a spray bottle. Use
the alfalfa to make hair for face sandwiches (pg.9) or potato
heads (pg.11)
