T.I.P.S. over the Telephone At tax time, there are lots of people who can help you with your taxes. CCRA (Canada Customs and Revenue Agency) has trained volunteers to help. Many Community Centres have volunteers who can help you to fill out your return. CCRA also provides a phone service that can help you with some of your questions. The service is called the Tax Information Phone Service - or T.I.P.S. for short. You can find information about T.I.P.S. in your General Income Tax and Benefit Guide. The top half of the last page has information about various services. Some of the services are only available at certain times. Some need you to give your SIN number and information from your tax return - either the one you have just filled out or the one from last year. Your teacher will give you the page from the guide that you will need to answer the questions that follow. Using the information on the page from the guide that your teacher gave you, fill in the dates when some of the information services are available. |
