Reading Comprehension #14017

  1. Jumping on the Bandwagon means assuming that the statements said to be held by a group of people must be correct without evaluating the facts or details.

    Example
Fifty-three people bought the Digimatic calculator from the Residential Shopping Network. I should buy one also.

  2. Appeal to Authority encourages readers to accept the opinions expressed by “experts.” Testimonials about isolated experiences or opinions are used in place of detailed and balanced presentations of facts.

    Example
Lorne Corpus, world body building champion, says that Killarney Industrial steel is the strongest steel on the market. Lorne knows about strength, so use Killarney Industrial Steel in your construction project.
