Introduction to Rebecca's story

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Sean Gilpin and I am the educational assistant for a wonderful woman. Rebecca Clark is a student at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario. She is attending the Access for Success program which is a career development, life skills and academic upgrading program for students with disabilities. Rebecca’s goal within the program is to determine a suitable career that she can be successful in. She has narrowed her focus to volunteering her time at a retirement community.

Rebecca is an energetic, outgoing woman who strives for perfection in every aspect of her life. She consistently amazes me with her positive attitude and kind heart. Rebecca was born with cerebral palsy. She is non-verbal and uses a power chair because of her limited motor skills. Rebecca has never let her disability prevent her from being an active and involved individual in both her school and personal life.

Rebecca loves learning and has enjoyed the process of writing her story immensely. She has drawn from her own life experiences to tell her story. She was extremely satisfied with the outcome of the hard work she put into her writing and is proud to share it with you.

Rebecca and I hope that you enjoy her story. It has been a wonderful experience for both she and I!
