A day at the Skydome: Last season I went to the Skydome to watch the Toronto Blue Jays play the Anaheim Angels. When we arrived the Blue Jays were doing their stretching exercises. I enjoyed watching them.
My favourite Blue Jay players are Raul Mondesi, Carlos Delgado and Roger Clement (when he was with the Blue Jays, but he is now with the New York Yankees). I wore my Blue Jay shirt, white pants and my 1993 World Series jacket. We ate hot dogs, tortilla chips, Coke and hot chocolate. We were given noise-makers by the Blue Jays. I bought a new Blue Jays shirt and hat. It is time to get a new jacket.
It was fun driving through the crowd. Faune helped guide me. I was looking for Blue Jay Birdy but he has been replaced by two other mascots. I tried to get a game ball and have my picture taken with Raul and Carlos, but Faune said they couldn’t during the game.
We were all cheering for the Blue Jays to win. Raul hit a home run but the Blue Jays lost 5 to 2 anyway. I enjoyed the game but I was sad that the Blue Jays lost. We stayed at the game until 11:00 p.m. when the WheelTrans bus came. I was the last one to get my bus.
A day at the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins hockey game: Last year, I went to the hockey game at the Air Canada Centre. I went dressed in a Maple Leaf jersey #23, which used to be worn by one of my favorite old-timers, Eddie Shack. Everybody told me that I should have worn my Bobby Orr (#4 Boston Bruins) shirt so that we could all remember that he played for Boston.
This was not a very good game as Boston beat Toronto 4 to 0. This is one thing that we all have to remember: that Boston beat Toronto in the last regular game of the season. We were all cheering for the Leafs but it was one of their worst games of the year. Hopefully the Leafs learned a lesson from this game and play better in the playoffs, especially if they end up playing New Jersey Devils in the second round.
