Part 1: Basic steps
- Tell trainees that they will be learners in a Russian class for
the next
few minutes.
- Indicate that trainees (who are the
"learners" for
this session) should
just listen. (You can put your index finger on your mouth to
indicate " just listen." )
- Pick one of the objects, show the object (or
the picture) and say the
word in a sentence.
For example:
- Say,

- Repeat
the phrase,
.
- Indicate
that the trainees repeat the phrase. (Use the palm up, fingers
waving towards yourself to indicate to repeat.)
- Say,
.
- Repeat
the phrase,
.
- Indicate
that the trainees repeat the phrase.
- Repeat the steps using
the remaining words.
- Now, show the object/enlarged picture.
Have trainees respond by saying the word in the sentence. (

Part 2: Response Drills
This time, you want to say the word and have the trainees repeat
the word
again. However, rather than just go on to a next word, you want
the trainees
to respond to the question, 
For example:
- Say,
.
- Indicate
that the trainees repeat the phrase,
.
- Point at the object and say,
" "
- Wait for the trainees to respond with
.
- If there is an error, repeat the question.
- If the trainees need
additional assistance, model the question (while
keeping your hand close to yourself) and the answer (with your
hand
closer to the learner.)
- Repeat using all the vocabulary words
introduced in Part 1.
