Service providers can also provide a vital link between literacy programs and those who might benefit from attending them.
Literacy can be a tool for increasing the choices available to people to participate in life more fully. However, it is not the panacea that alone will solve all society's ills. Acquisition of higher literacy skills must be part of a wider, cooperative approach which promotes advancement in all aspects of social justice and development. This integration is a social and an economic imperative. It just makes us all better.
