Theatre picture

Three summers ago Rising Tide theatre started The New Founde Lande Trinity Pageant. In this show, actors and actresses present scenes about the history of the Trinity area. Most of the scenes take place outdoors. The audience follows the players as they move through the community doing different scenes. One scene shows the pirate Peter Easton coming ashore. Another part of the play takes place on a beach, around a fish flake. Other scenes are set in a merchant's store, a courthouse, and a church.

Last summer about 11,000 people came to see the Trinity Pageant. Visitors came from all over Newfoundland and Labrador. Many people came from outside this province.

Rising Tide also puts on other performances in the Trinity area. These shows are part of the "Summer In The Bight" Theatre Festival. There are also other attractions for visitors to this part of the province. There are several museums and historic sites. Visitors can ride the train at the Trinity Train Loop.
