Two Paths I Follow

Two paths I lead,
two paths I follow,
two exemptions,
two perceptions,
co-existing misconceptions,
blankets of stereotypical anguish blemishing the soul,
consciously full of spit and roses,
eyes crying for better poses,
heart lost in unconventional space,
two paths I lead,
two paths I follow,
two paths I face.

For Those Forgotten

gotten are souls who have little to share,
binding by force of little repair.
Needed by someone,
someone to care.
Just needed.

Forgotten are those soft spoken and lame,
I hope they don't feel immortal shame.
All those who feel are forgotten,
don't idolize those spoiled rotten.
Someday you are the same,
hold a key to the vault of lofty fame.

How Dark Is A Night

How dark is a night?
Is it darker than it appears.
Darkness collides with endless tears.
Is it darker if it's cold?
Is it darker without lights?
Does the moon brighten its plights?
How dark is the night?

This poem was written by John Keats. John is an adult basic education student in Lewisporte.

John's Poem

In another life I
would be a writer, and
like writing about my experiences in life.
Mom - the most beautiful person,
Dad - the hard working man.
Mom - the helping hand couldn't talk,
but you new what she thought.

Miss her now.
Rose, her favourite flower,
her home made mittens,
her partridgebeny tarts,
kind thoughts for everyone.

Small babies - loved to see children come in.
Made some dandy bread,
no one made soup the way Mom did

I see her now,
in her rocking chair.
Just like yesterday.
