The selection process for RAP, Health Services and Academic Technical/Professional employment opportunities is a competitive activity. Applicants are screened and go through an interview process. Therefore, students interested in exploring these career opportunities must participate in the Careers Programs. Students meet one lunch period per week to research their career selections, complete and present a skills portfolio and prepare for the selection interview process.

Eligibility for Career Preparation Programs

  • Completion of CTR 1010
  • Good standing and continuous improvement in Math, Science, English
  • 65% average in core subjects and passing all electives
  • Excellent attendance- 98% or better
  • On track to complete diploma
  • Career portfolio prepared and presented
  • Demonstrated career exploration and interest (ie. Attend career conference, interview career related specialist)
  • Extensive application form, including 2 references
  • Good citizenship in school and community
  • Interview and screening by school guidance counsellors, CCC, and prospective employers
