Summative evaluation, that which determines completion of a unit of study, is equally important in that it identifies milestones achieved. While summative evaluation may take place at the end of a semester in many college programs, it should take place at the end of each unit as agreed to by the learner and the practitioner at intake. A best practice with respect to evaluation: Frequent evaluation of the learner’s progress, both normative and summative should be recognized as a vital part of every LBS program. |
