A4.3 Sample Job Description: Chairperson of the Board of Directors
Goal: The Chairperson of the Board of Directors is responsible for providing leadership to the board and ensuring that the board adheres to its Constitution and By-laws.
Duties and Activities:
In addition to the duties and activities of a general board member, the Chairperson will:
Time Commitment: The Chairperson of the Board of Directors is elected by the Board of Directors. The Chairperson of the Board of Directors may serve up to three consecutive one-year terms in this position. The monthly commitment is approximately five hours in addition to the commitment of a general board member.
Qualifications: The Chairperson of the Board of Directors must have strong leadership and facilitation skills.
