Generally, children find it easier to act out their feelings rather than talk about them. For children living in abusive homes, it is even harder for them to talk about their feelings. Feelings of anger, confusion, fear and anxiety are often experienced by all members in the household. The children may sense no one is in a position to listen or help them. Younger children express their hurt by developing physical problems. Older children cry out for help and cope by "acting out" in various ways.
