Nova Scotia Federation of Labour: Peer Learning Guide Labour
They are sometimes called "co-worker
instructors", "course leaders", or "peer
tutors". They are facilitators in literacy programs. The Nova
Scotia Federation of Labour has a new term to describe the idea
of learning between
equals, or workers instructing workers through workplace education
- the peer learning guide. This presentation will give an overview
of the history behind
the peer learning guide model, explain the partnership that brought
it into being in Nova Scotia and outline the training and pilot
projects that are
starting in Nova Scotia unionized workplaces this year.
