Organization: Learning Associates of MontrealContact: Project: The Reading Zone Day Camp Goals: To provide remediation for children. Target: Children with Learning Disabilities Description: The summer 2004 project: The Reading Zone is a day camp for learning disabled children. It takes place over three weeks. In the morning, the Learning Associates offers remediation for the children; in the afternoon, Trevor Williams offers a basketball camp. Partners: Trevor Williams Kid Foundation Workshops: Learning Disabilities Goals: To make educators aware of the signs of learning disabilities, and teach them how to deal with a child with learning disabilities, and how to get help as an adult with learning disabilities. Target: Specific to individual workshops. Description: The Learning Associates offers Learning Disabilities related workshops upon request. Training varies from one-half day to three days, based on request. Event: Learning Disabilities Conference Goals: To provide professional development in the area of Learning Disabilities. Target: Participants at Learning Disabilities Association of Quebec (LDAQ). Description: Professionals from the Learning Associates have offered training sessions at the LDAQ Conferences to increase awareness of various issues related to learning disabilities. |
