Workshops: Organizing Yourself for High School/Organizing Yourself for College

Duration: 2 hours

Availability: Offered as needed

Goals: To provide youth with skills to develop organizational and time management skills for success at high school/college.

Target: 12-17 years

Description: Participatory workshops that include the following topics:

  • positive attitudes
  • work ethics
  • commitment to quality
  • listening skills and ways to improve them
  • note taking
  • 17 ways to study smarter
  • time management
  • working with your teacher

Workshop: Family Literacy Workshop

Duration: 4 sessions of 90 minutes; offered as needed

Goals: To teach parents the importance of reading with and to their children; to provide parents with information to help them understand how young children learn; to introduce parents to resources which will help them to bring reading into the home.

Target: Parents/caregivers with young children (0-5 years)

Description: The workshops teach parents about the importance of reading in the home and provide practical tips for reading with and to children.
