Exercise 2 -
Answers
- The first task,
finding the total value of a pension plan at age 65, is a document use task.
The second, calculating monthly pension is a quantitative task.
- To use the
table, the respondent must know the annual amounts contributed to the pension
plan (both individual and employer shares). The respondent must also know how
many years the contributions into the plan will be made.
- A typical
question might be: If I and my employer have each contributed $3,000 to my
pension plan since I was 35, and we continue to do so until I am age 65, what
will my total return be on the plan at that time?
