Comment:

Table 9 indicates that services provided in the home of the sitter are generally less expensive than those provided in the home of the parent; and that the costs to the parents for services provided in day care centres is close to the overall average.

The rates of increase tell a different story. It is apparent that the costs for day care services provided in day care centres are increasing less rapidly than for any other type of service. It is also apparent that costs for day care services provided outside the parent's home are becoming more equal, while services provided within the parent's home are moving ahead very rapidly.
