by Sharon Barton The story is about the adoption of a three-month-old boy from Children's Aid. He was adopted by his grandmother. About ten months later the grandmother died. The baby was able to stay with the rest of the family. The child was going to a special school when he was six months old. They would come around and pick him up in a special van because they were doing a survey of kids from low income families. We thought the book was very good. The story made us feel happy, because we were glad that the boy had a good home. The part of the story we liked the best was when they said, "Once you get him talking, you can't shut him up." We were sorry to hear that the grandmother died in the story. A review by Ann Brooke, Jim Booker, Bill Brooke Jr., Anne Welch and David Brenton, Duncan, B.C. |
