CRIAW CRIAW's publication committee is soliciting submissions to be considered for publication on the following topics: women and the use of tobacco; women and the correctional system; violence/aggression against Black people: its specific effects on Black women; women and the fisheries; the education of girls and young women; cuts to the health care system and their impact(s) on women; feminist analysis of the issues surrounding AIDS. Resources for Feminist Research Work-in-Progress Resources for Feminist Research requests brief summaries of research projects currently undertaken by feminist scholars. Reports of "Works in Progress" are published in each issue of RFR. Forms are available at the above address. Praxis Nexus: Feminist Methodology, Theory, Community Proposals for papers and presentations are invited from scholars, graduate students, and community activists for a conference January 18-20, 1996. Suggested topics include: being in the community as a scholar/being in the academy as an activist/being an activist and a scholar; successful projects/failed attempts; theoretical implications of a changing feminist praxis; methodological frontiers and cautions; solidarity in praxis/divisions in practice; legitimation of subjugated knowledge; research design; epistemological advances and the implications for praxis. Submit one-page abstracts or proposals by August 25, 1995. Peace Brigades International PBI requests participants for a delegation to Colombia, June 30 - July 11, to show international support to the groups and communities working against political violence and impunity. $1100 plus international airfare. National Association of Women and the Law Submissions are invited from all students at recognized post-secondary institutions on the topic of Redefining Family Law: the Challenge of Diversity. Essays should be 2,550 -10,000 words and on 8 1/2 x 11 paper, typewritten, double-spaced. Send 3 copies by May 31, 1995. Prizes of $500, $300 and $100 are awarded. A Friend Indeed Award $5,000 (U.S.) will be awarded to the person(s) who demonstrate(s) innovation in studies about, or services to women in menopause. The criterion: Evident current or potential benefit to women in menopause as a result of programming, research, writing or other services. Michael Smith Awards for Science Promotion Up to 9 non-monetary awards will be given to any individual (including teachers and administrators), organization or company who have demonstrated a sustained effort in encouraging young people' s interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
