This week, we have a story written by Donna Lewis, from Amherst, Nova Scotia. Donna has recently been enrolled in literacy classes at Cumberland Adult Network for Upgrading (CAN-U).
Christmas time is a time to love and share
To be with the ones that really care.
It's a day Christ was born.
We salute and blow our horn.
Christmas time is so special to me.
I love you all; Can't you see?
Sometimes I sit and wonder why
I see so many people cry.
Christmas time is when I forget the ones I cannot stand,
and do my best to try and shake their hand.
I often try to help those in need
And I know I've done a great deed.
Christmas time I sit and pray
That we all stay safe on this day.
I always try to open my heart
To love someone right from the start.
Christmas time is a day to remember.
It only comes once every December.
