This week, we have a story written by Anne Robinson, from Sydney, Nova Scotia. Anne is an adult learner with the Cape Breton Literacy Network, Northside Day Class. She is the mother of two beautiful children. She has strong family values. Love, family and harmony are very important to her. Anne has taught herself to use the computer and does very well.
My soul mate, Gary has truly been an inspiration to me and a big influence in my life. I cherish his accomplishments. He is so dedicated and works hard at everything he does. He is so motivated. I admire his determination, strength and his ability to overcome any obstacle. I admire what he stands for. I respect him, and I'm very proud of him. Gary is a very caring and compassionate person. He always goes out of his way to help others. He always has kind words for people. Gary has a very loving heart. These are the reasons why this man inspires me so much.
There was a time in my life that I felt worthless. I felt that I was a nobody and that I was going nowhere. I was even scared to be around people some of the time. This very special man came into my life and changed it forever. He is so loving and supportive of me. Over time, he has given me the strength and the confidence I needed to better myself as a person. I have grown and blossomed into the woman that I am today. Gary has opened my mind, eyes and heart. He helped me believe in myself once again with the love, understanding and support he has given me. He helped me put each foot forward each day and I have made it. I am no longer the empty shell of a person that I used to be. I have the confidence and the strength it takes to succeed. All because ONE very special person believed in me. My wish is that everyone could have someone as supportive and loving in their lives like I do in mine. They would feel like they could conquer the world. Gary is right, "As long as you believe in yourself you can accomplish anything you want to do."
I can never repay him for all the "good" he has bought into my life. All I can say is, "Thank you, Gary, forever and always."
