Rico Ibrahim is a student from Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the one to one tutoring program at the Keshen Goodman Public Library with Coordinator Melissa Michels. His tutor is Mike Reddy, who is also a member of the board of the Halifax Community Learning Network.
To be healthy is to have passion. Passion to be in good physical, mental and emotional health. It means you will become great with whatever you do because it means you strive to do your best no matter what.
For example, if you are a sports fan then you want to be healthy and have an active lifestyle because you too want to play the game. That’s passion.
To be a healthy person you can take several steps. The first, I believe to be the most important is to change your lifestyle. You need to take every opportunity to do this. You individually, your family and your community.
A great example to explain this is, you need to be active by possibly playing a kind of sport 15 to 30 minutes, three days a week and making it a habit.
The second step is focusing on your family. Exercising as a family increases your motivation and keeps you all active. This allows for better long term health.

Live life to the best of your ability and be all you can with every step you take. For you, your family, and your community.
