Best Practices SupportedThe Book Bag Home Reading Program is a family literacy activity that can be incorporated into an adult literacy and basic education program. It can be done through the local public library or with an in-class library of children and adult books.
The activity involves parents and their children. Parents sign up their children for the program and then receive an Arthur or Franklin book bag. As part of an in-class project, parents can choose to get creative and make their own book bags out of canvas.
