Description
1. Using the steps of the writing
process, the students will write a story about an experience that they have had
that has changed their life in some way. It doesn't have to be a big change. It
can simply be a moment of self-realization or self learning.
2. Each story should include the
events that led up to the moment of change, the event or events that took place
during the moment of change, and how the change has affected the student's life
today.
3. Each story should also include a
title.
4. Have the students focus on
positive changes as negative changes may bring up too many emotions that many
of us are not trained to diffuse.
5. I ask my students to include a
title page with their good copy. I also ask that they double space their final
copy and include page numbers. This makes marking the piece somewhat
easier.
