This logic model clearly shows the role each type of agency or program plays. The roles and responsibilities listed in the top section of the diagram for each of the LBS Section, LBS Delivery Agencies, and LBS Support and Service Agencies is not new information, but it does clearly lay out the core business for each group and shows how together we are working to achieve the ultimate long-term goal of a more literate Ontario.

Mission
LBS contributes to a skilled workforce and strong communities in Ontario by providing Ontarians flexible and integrated literacy and essential skills programming for transitions to employment, higher skills training and participation in lifelong learning.
 
LBS Section
  1. Manages, funds and monitors LBS delivery and support services

  LBS Delivery Agencies
  1. Deliver a flexible, integrated approach to LBS programming responsive to local needs

  3. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with LBS referral, support and transitions partners
  4. Develop and maintain effective communication, marketing and stakeholder engagement
  5. Integrate and use relevant, quality materials/resources with learners
  6. Provide orientation and ongoing PD/training to LBS agency staff
  7. Participate, conduct and/or integrate research and development linked to/for supportive of LBS Program
  LBS Support and Service Agencies
  1. Support LBS funded delivery agencies to deliver co-ordinated, quality services responsive to emerging needs (identified by the community and government) within an integrated training and employment system
  2. Provide support for Ministry led initiatives using a model of continuous improvement
  3. Develop and provide accessible, quality resources that support LBS-funded agencies to deliver a quality LBS Program
  4. Support professional development of LBS-funded agencies to effectively deliver the LBS Program
  5. Support the production and integration of research and development results and products that are linked to and support the LBS Program
