Guide Button
If you click the Guide button, a drop down menu will appear. If
you choose one of the top three choices, you will be taken to a
directory where you can browse for Web sites by category, search for
individuals, or look for software that is available for downloading.
The last two choices take you to specialized pages that list some of
the latest and most popular links.
Print Button
Click this button to print the currently displayed page. Note: If
the text on your screen is white on a dark background, it will print
as white text on a white piece of paper. Your page will appear blank.
There is nothing wrong with your computer or printer.
Security Button
This button will show you the security status of any viewed
document. In most cases, it will display an unlocked paddle lock.
However, if you are viewing a secure document, the button will show a
locked paddle lock. This button will also allow the user to change the
security status of Navigator. I would suggest that you leave this
button alone for now.
Stop Button
With this button, you can stop the download of a page. This can
be helpful in many situations. Perhaps you clicked a link by mistake,
or a page is taking too long to download and you decide that you do
not want to wait. Sometimes, as the page begins to display, you may
decide that it does not have the information that you need. You can
click the Stop button and then the Back button to take you to the
previous page.
Netscape Button
The Netscape Button is the one with the large N located on the
extreme right of the toolbar. When the button shows meteors flying by,
the program is busy retrieving a document. If you click the Netscape
button while a document is loading, it acts as a stop button. However,
clicking this button will also transport you to Netscape's home page.
