Nova Scotia Weather* Nova Scotia is on Canada's east coast. Nova Scotia's springs and summers are cool. The cold water of the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Fundy keep the air cool. Winter in Nova Scotia can be cold, but the weather is mostly mild. The Gulf Stream, a warm body of water off the north coast, keeps our winters warm. Nova Scotia has a lot of fog. Fog occurs when warm air passes over the cold water.
