A Tear

E. ROBICHEAU (Translation of french)

I cry a tear
A lonely tear

A tear
Of fear

A tear of sorrows
For all tomorrows

A tear of regret
A tear with no respect

A tear to prick my pride
A tear impossible to hide

A tear falls
Swipe it with my palm

A tear runs down my face
I feel embarrassment, humiliation, disgrace

A tear can sometimes be dammed
A tear can also fall on demand

A tear can grow
To form a flow

A tear, I’m told, can be a good thing
Joyful, comforting, healing

My tear is frustrating, disappointing, shameful,
My tear is remorseful, reproachful

My tear, for now, is a one and only
My tear is lonely…
