5. Review
What is reviewing?
Reviewing is the last step in the reading process. The main goal of
the reviewing step is to help you remember what you read.
Why do I need to use reviewing?
The practice using and repeating the information in the reciting stage
is not enough to keep most of the information in your memory. More practice
is needed.
How do I use reviewing?
Reviewing can be done in several different ways. Some of these include
rereading the original material. It also involves reviewing underlined
or highlighted notes. It also involves reviewing written summaries and
concept maps. You should review material twenty-four hours after reading
it. You will also need to review the material periodically.
