In October of 1999, my support worker Andrew Adams took me to Frontier College for the first time. I started going to Monday night classes with Elaine. We did math, reading and spelling. Jackie Campbell was my tutor for over two years. Jackie helped me to read better. She spent a lot of time with me. Jackie was a fun person. I had to stop coming on Monday evenings because my work schedule changed. I miss her.
Now I’m coming to Frontier College on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. I’m in a group of about twelve learners. We are writing about our past, present and future. Coming to Frontier College is a good way to meet people. We have a party at the end of each term.
I am also attending a Men’s Group, where we talk about making our own decisions, personal appearance and experiences. I enjoy being in the Men’s Group. I am interested in what other people say and they listen to me.
