DR. BOB LAUBACH STUDENT FUND
FALL PICK-UP WORKSHOP

Students of the Student Support Group of the Greater Moncton Literacy Council (GMLC) are pleased to report that the “Fall Pick-up Workshop”, a project funded by the 2003 Dr. Bob Laubach Student Fund, was held on September 13, 2003.

The 5-hour workshop was held at the Rotary Lodge, Centennial Park with 21 people in attendance; 8 students, 2 spouses and 11 tutors and executive members, including Peter Sawyer, president of the GMLC and Debbie McInnis, Executive Director of Laubach Literacy New Brunswick.

The facilitator, Cindy Levesque, from the Ruth Barnes Modelling Agency Ltd. was an animated speaker who introduced each topic with enthusiasm, while encouraging group participation and taking time to graciously answer all questions presented to her.

Cindy began the workshop with a session on good posture, whether sitting, standing or walking. Proper introductions and hand shakes were discussed as well as telephone etiquette.

Wardrobe was an interesting subject with ideas for both men and women as well as pointers on how to get the most for your dollar when shopping for clothes. A session on scarf tying for women and neckties for men was followed by a draw in which each student received an appropriate gift.

“The workshop was more interesting than expected.”
“Very good, favourite part was on posture.”; “Loved it.”; “Enjoyed it all.”; “Got some good ideas.”;
“Can we do this every year.”

The Student Support Group of the Greater Moncton Literacy Council sincerely thanks LLC and the Dr. Bob Laubach Student Fund for making this workshop possible.

Sincerely,
