April 27 to May 4 is Library Week. This year's theme is "Libraries: The Adventure Awaits You!" Special activities will promote the importance of libraries in our communities. There are more than 100 libraries in Newfoundland and Labrador. They offer reading material, reference services, electronic resources, and programs such as story time and home reading services.

A public library isn't the only kind of library. There are also school and university libraries. There are special libraries such as business and medical libraries. Opening the doors to a library opens up a whole new world to you.
