Information Brochure for the
Literacy Development Council

The Literacy Development Council is working on a literacy information brochure. The brochure will describe the different types of adult basic education and literacy programs that are available in the province and will also offer general information on how to get involved in a literacy program as a tutor or as a learner. The brochure will be printed and distributed to various locations throughout the province. It will also be available for viewing on the worldwide web at the Council's website.

Della Coish is the Executive Director of the Literacy Development Council. Ms. Coish is one of the people working on developing the brochure. She believes that adult learners can offer good information on what should go into the brochure because they have experienced "first-hand" what it is like to search for and get into a program. Ms. Coish also says that even though there has been a great deal of effort put into literacy awareness in recent years, there is still a gap between adult literacy awareness and program availability. The Literacy Development Council would like to decrease the gap by providing up-to-date information on literacy programs by supporting adults who want to improve their reading and writing skills.

If you are an adult learner - the Literacy Development Council would like to hear from you! You can fill out the form below and send it to the Council. All forms from adult learners will be reviewed and a number of quotes will be selected. These quotes will be placed in the brochure.

  1. If you could say one thing to other adults who are thinking about improving their reading and writing skills, what would you say?
