My resolution for the new millennium is that I would give up sweets and
gravy. I would like to walk more. I’d like to improve my writing and get a
job after I finish at the Learning Centre.

In the last few years, it has been very hard without work. It is even harder
without an education. I didn’t realize how important an education was
until I lost my job. At the Learning Centre I have learned to read, write, and
do arithmetic. I’m starting to write my own story. I hope to complete it
in the year 2000. My goal is to finish my education and publish my story.

I grew up in Labrador and did not have a chance to go to school. I worked
with my father in the fishery. I have learned to read and write in this
program. I hope to continue this program in the year 2000.

on trips together. It would be nice if we owned our house and our vehicle.
