Hello, my name is Connie Clarke. I am thirty-two years of age. I have been in the literacy program since September and I am enjoying it a lot. I have 5 children who inspired me to take the leap and go back to school. I am planning on getting my ABE and going on to Nursing. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful teacher who makes learning fun. After all you are never too old to get an education.

My name is Diane Hynes and I'm presently attending the Learning Centre in Comer Brook. I've met a lot of other students like myself who are trying to get their grade twelve. Our class attended a conference in Stephenville in October, 2003. It was a wonderful experience. Our class got a chance to meet Dorothy Silver. We talked about living on a shoestring budget. She is a very impressive lady.

My name is DonnaMitchell. I'm at the Learning Centre in upgrade my education and to help my daughter Holly. I enjoyed the conference in Stephenville in October. I met new friends in our class this year.

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Allen. I am thirty nine years old and I've been going to the Learning Centre since September 15^th, 2003. I'm originally from Ontario and I came to Newfoundland two years ago and I lived down the coast in Cow Head. I only lived there for four months. Then I decided to go to Corner Brook to live. I am enrolled at the Learning Centre and I really enjoy it. I met a lot of new friends. I went to Stephenville for a conference from October 17^th to the 19^th. I really enjoyed myself out there, especially the dance.

My name is Jean Blackwood. I have been a student at the Learning Centre in Corner Brook for a while. I like to be in school because it helps me read and write better. Now I know lots of nice people. We were at the conference in Stephenville in October 2003. I liked talking to new people and asking questions. Everyone enjoyed the dance on Saturday night.

Hi, my name is Terry McCarthy. I have been coming to the Learning Centre for two years. Since then I have met new people from all walks of life, like politicians on the provincial and federal level. I have attended three conferences which I have enjoyed very much. I have learned many new skills like reading, writing, math, social studies, and computer studies. My goal is to get as much education as I can and take a course later on at the College of the North Atlantic.

My name is Veronica Park. I am presently attending the Learning Centre doing ABE Level 1. I am working toward my grade 12. After graduating, I hope to take a hairdressing course. In this class you can ask for extra help. I had a problem with math but I am catching on really quick. I want to thank my teacher Jane Broadbent.

My name is Doreen Cook. This past summer my husband and I moved to Corner Brook. We left Grand Falls- Windsor on June 30, 2003 and rode our bikes all the way to Corner Brook. We had our two dogs with us in baskets on our bikes. We camped all the way here and enjoyed all the things we saw and did. I enjoy going to school and I am looking forward to getting my grade 12.
