BSLN participated in the MCCE booth at the Healthy You: Health and Wellness Show at Exhibition Park from September 15 to 17th to raise awareness about the importance of lifelong learning as part of a healthy lifestyle.
BSLN recently had a very successful fundraiser and special thanks go to the All Saints Bedford Players who donated tickets to their play “Who’s in Bed With the Butler” By Michael Parker on October 27th or 28th. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to purchase literacy resources for BSLN.
Broadcaster, writer, editor, and literacy advocate Peter Gzowski died in 2002. He was a very versatile, engaging personality known for his patriotism, warmth, wit and unpretentious demeanor. From 1982 - 97 he was best remembered as the host of CBC morningside. He was passionate about literacy and founded the Peter Gzowski Invitational Golf Tournaments for literacy which are found in all provinces and territories.
2004 marks the 10th year of service at this community learning network, and I think it is a perfect time to reflect upon all the learning and growth that has taken place over the years.
