Show Learners |
Ask participants how they were hired at their last job. Record on a flip chart or whiteboard in unmarked columns for Visible and Hidden Job Market. Reveal the column headings to illustrate that a majority of people are hired through the hidden market. Define the difference between the two markets. Discuss the networking strategy and ask participants to list names of people they can network with using the contacts worksheet as a guide. How do you think employers in construction hire? Define cold calling. |
