As President of
Health Literacy Consulting, Helen Osborne teaches clinicians and managers
across the U.S. and Canada ways to make medical information understandable. She
brings to this work her experience as an occupational therapist, her training
as an educator, and her perspective as a patient and family member. She is the
author of two books, Overcoming Communication Barriers in Patient
Education and Partnering with Patients to Improve Health Outcomes
(both from Aspen Publishers). Helen writes about patient education and health
care communication for The Boston Globe's On Call magazine and is
founding director of Health Literacy Month in North America. |
