Judy King, MHSc, BHSc(PT), is a physiotherapist and a Ph.D. candidate in education at the University of Ottawa. She has encouraged the use of plain language in her many professional roles, which include teaching at the university and acting as the Canadian Physiotherapy Association's representative to the National Literacy and Health Program. She is studying the experiences of people who have low literacy skills and chronic illness in navigating the health care system.
