Program Mission and Goals: This program aims to help participants to understand everyday living skills and thereby empowering themselves.

Program Description: Established in 1988 and run by a board of directors this programs was established to assist people to understand the choices available so that they can help themselves. Programs are offered both through small classes and one-on-one tutoring. Learners identify their own needs and goals upon entry into the program.

Regina HELP is often delivered through community schools, health centres and family literacy projects. Essential components of the program are life skills and job preparation. Currently there is one full time staff person and one part time staff person working in the program. The program is offered weekly for either 8, 12 or 20 weeks. Each session is about 2 hours long and involves hands on teaching.

Aboriginal Kokums (grandmothers) are involved in the cooking/sharing program. This program is successful because it is provided in a supportive and comfortable setting.
