The program exists to provide adult and children's resources; family literacy education and awareness; advocacy and support. Program Description: This program provides support and training to members of SECA concerned with family literacy. Workshops, training events and resources are provided to up to 24 people at a time. A variety of family literacy models are used as well as a general introduction to family literacy that SECA has developed that incorporates hands on, role playing, "lecture" and round table. SECA is an organization that deals with meeting the needs of care providers, parents, and children. It also serves to raise the general level of awareness, education and professionalism re: child care. As a part of the "big picture," literacy, especially family literacy figure prominently in terms of providing the best care/education possible. SECA provides advice, support and general advocacy to its members.
